Pinch Me!
Doodles of brand names & logo designs decorating pages of my sketch books for many years finally came to life as I left my job in May 2024 with purpose and passion. I never expected a year on I would have achieved several jewellery collections to which one of those sold out! Creating my own website, jewellery diploma, newsletter subscription & a large following on social media to name a few. Which none came without hard work and determination, long days and lot’s of learning!
On Thursday the 19th of June I was invited to celebrate the Portland Business Awards as I had been nominated for an award. We listened to some great speakers and one asked ‘raise your hand if you are a business owner’ and that’s when it really hit me, I am a business owner and so I raised my hand. I wasn’t there representing another company I worked for anymore, I was there for me, my own business I had grown & built, pinch me!
We cheered and celebrated each business that received an award, the last category was announced ‘New Business Award’. The Silver award was given to a very deserving winner. Then the gold envelope was opened & read aloud ‘the nominee for the gold award said ‘I am really excited to see where I can take my business. This is not just a business to me it’s my dream & passion’ the judges new this was the winner…. Bridget Rose jewellery’.
My heart raced with pure excitement and then nerves because I had to give a thank you speech! I now sit here writing this with my proudly framed certificate in front of me reading ‘New Business Award, Gold Winner 2025, Bridget Rose Jewellery’.
To be nominated was an honor, to celebrate other business winning their awards was also a privilege but to win, a gold award, over the absolute moon!
As I have said it has taken me hard work, determination, perseverance & investment to achieve this dream but none of it would have been achievable without you. So this is our award, thank you for supporting my business. From the purchases and reviews to the social media likes and follows it means the absolute world to me.
