Inspired by the rocky paths of Castle Crag one of the many famous wainwright fells in the lake district. Having walked it myself I took inspiration from the slate formations found here and hand formed the texture into silver. Oxidised to create the dark finish and highlighting the slate formations.
A little history.... Castle Crag fell was used for Iron Age Fortification, Roman trade and a slate quarry used for many construction projects in the area. It was also a home to Milican Dalton known as 'The professor of Adventure' an eccentric character who lived within the caves near the summit for over 20 years. We have actually explored these caves & they are impressive, make sure to check them out if your ever exploring the Lake District.
